I sometimes average this much or more cleaning carpet. I doubt they'd want a person who cleans carpets next to them at the table though. But I bet i could think of some ways of being a distraction to the jurors.

She sure as hell is distracting. What idiot dresses her? I mean... that striped shirt is an eyesore! And are those glasses from a 1970s porn film naughty teacher outfit? Anyone making that much per hour can afford a proper naughty business suit.

OBJECTION!

$115 hr. is 1/3 the rate the average attorney charges clients and the law clerk/paralegal is the one doing most of the work on the case in many instances while the lawyer is merely the license holder.

You are out of order.

I object to the idea that this woman is any way sexually appealing.

She'd better be smart because her fashion sense is a travesty.

I'm flabbergasted that someone who makes decent money could be clothed in such items.

Does anyone mind if I offer an addendum?

It's well worth reeding. The entire thread stands on its head.

it turns out that Gooch has been ogling, scrutinizing, and questioning the qualifications of Feofanov’s wife.

Dude¦ not cool.

$115 an hour isn't much ........but if you are on that kind of money you can basically dress how you please.
What I object to is the objection itself.
If you take a scruffy looking guy, cut his hair and put him in a suit he is now considered by societal standards as attractive and presentable. BUT. when women dress as the societal standard and what is expected of us for eons and centuries it's been about cleavage, (to the quarter measurement) legs, and behind. THEN!. As soon as we women do that 'what society tells us is acceptable and presentable' All the knives come out. In fact it doesn't matter what a woman wears someone somewhere will have a go and find some kind of fault. Always has been always will be. Welcome to a womans world.

Do you know, I've worked alongside women for a very long time and what you describe matches just one decade of that - the seventies. Perhaps it depends on the industry, maybe you mean modelling agencies. In computing, in the places I was freelancing, gender discrimination was either absent or invisible. I can think of only one instance where men were preferred as team leaders, or paid more, or recruited differently, and that was not under British management. Other than that, whether the setting was the City of London or university departments or software houses this was the case. I've worked in teams run by women, on teams with a preponderance of women, under departmental heads who were female, and the idea that there was a different dress code is laughable. The one company I experienced with the outdated attitudes you describe was Rank Xerox, under an all-American management and with a cut-throat policy of promoting "winners", where I put in six months and looked on in horror.

Perhaps Australia is just fifty years behind the more civilized times we enjoy in Europe.

I worked under one manager in the early nineties who wanted neither women nor antipodeans in his department - women because they became pregnant and antipodeans because they went home. He was quite open about it, I’m surprised you don’t remember him.

I'm taken aback by another woman blasting her fashion sense and not being outraged that her boobs were accused of bringing the wrong sort of attention as a distraction. WTF ?

The woman is either good at her job or she isn't, nothing to with her clothes, fashion sense or the size of her breasts. It is sad that big boobs are such an distraction for men and says more about him than anyone else. Some men can't seem to help themselves, as a big boobed woman I am sick of men talking to my chest and not my face, it still happens a lot now and over my life time I have spent periods of time covered up because of others reactions to something I have no control over. Now I'm older if I find a man staring I will generally point out they are being rude or ask why do they think that its ok to stare? Maybe men should all wear tight pants so we women can all have a good look and decide based on the size of their dick if they're good at their job or not.

I did spend my work life having to assert the fact I could answer questions though, my customers would look past me to shout questions at the male boss sat at his desk, I would step right in front of their gaze and answer the question all the while knowing my boss would be laughing and hiding behind a piece of paper. It was generally the older guys the youngers ones weren't so disrespectful. The older guys also couldn't cope with me slinging a 25kg bag over my shoulder carrying it out to their car and dropping it in their boot either.

Hey I've done that. A little trick passed on to me by an acquantance. If you find a man staring or learing at you . stare right back....then stare at his crotch. Then with your fingers make little measurement spaces as if you're calculating. I had a man get off a train seat and sit down the carriage . BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA ! it works.
