Isn't it cold in Winnipeg, or did I just imagine that forty degrees of frost?

And does Atlanta ever see so much as an icicle?

So if you play for the Thrashers, would you not feel hard done by if they moved from the sunny part to Manitoba? If you'd signed up for Georgia knowing you'd at least enjoy the weather?

My word I'd be annoyed if it were me.

It's extremely cold in Winnipeg, temps can reach -30C (-22Farenheit)

but they have no choice as the team was sold and transferred.

Winnipeg has indoor walkways between all their shopping centers to make sure people can get there to spend their money. Block heaters in the parking lots so cars will start again when the shoppers return. I was there in February and my nostrils stuck together after the first breath when I stepped outside the hotel. Luckily I just had to dart across the street to get inside the mall matrix.

Winnipeg used to have an NHL team many years ago.

Yep super cold winters, super hot and buggy summers.

Yay for NHL hockey returning though.

Are they recruiting cold-proofed players?

I'm not sure you understand the English at all Odie. We get far more mileage out of national teams which win one year in ten. That way we can be surprised when they turn up trumps and the opposition feels completely useless at being beaten by them. The other nine years we get even more satisfaction discussing their improbable ancestry, their waste of space and the occasional heroic defiance against the odds. It's the gallant losses that stick in the mind longest. David Steele is still the epitome of English Test batsmen for playing up when the rest of the team flinched.

you just said the same thing I did that you would also cheer for your own country.

We have sports going on here year round as well.

How can you possibly read what I wrote as saying I would cheer for my own country? There's not the slightest hint of that in my words. I can see surprise and personal abuse but not the least hint of cheering or applause.
