Choose a valid but little used word in the english language
Offer 4 definitions, one true and the others fictitious.
Whoever guesses the real definition (without googling) gets to choose the next word.
batrachophagous
1. A frog eater
2. One who fears choking
3. A wine specialist
4. A fly catcher
P.S. if Spot gets too many right, he MUST be banned :wah:

theia;1363129 wrote: You!!! Okay, clever Harry, why can't they be?Because only an eater is a phage (like a bacteriophage which is a virus that eats bacteria), and anything to do with eating is phagous (like the esophagus below your throat, for example). The first bit I don't recognize, all I can think of sounding close that's amphibian is Bufo- for toad but that's not froggy enough. But the phage bit gives it away.

To be honest, I felt really silly that I'd made that mistake, particularly when I can often be a pof too...that's why I was trying to respond humorously, to cover my embarrassment :yh_blush

Along those lines. To quote a review of the books I had in mind, "Burgess's greatest creation is Enderby, a wheezing, farting, belching bachelor poet who writes in the lavatory of his filthy flat". I first found the books when I was 19 or so and Enderby became an instant role model - the list omits, for no good reason, terminally confused by the world.

Nothing to stop you selecting any of the definitions. In the case of a tie, the first poster to select the correct definition takes the next turn, then you, or whoever
