I was discussing drama with a friend this morning. Women are always caught up in drama! There is drama at the workplace, among friends, and even on the internet. How is it that men avoid drama?

canaan wrote: :wah: I notice that in forums. Seems like women are usually the ones who have issues with each other. Men just sit back and watch the cat fight. When men don't care for each other..they just cuss each other out and are over it the next day. Same way in RL. I try to avoid drama when I can...unless someone is messing with my family...then it's on. But other than that I make a point to stay away from anyone who is always looking for something to complain about. Venting is ok...but when the dog is dead you should stop kicking it.so why when we cuss each other out does it get worse?

or is it that we don't cuss enough?

HEY, We "resemble" that remark!!! :wah:

Most women actually "listen" to what the other one is saying. Where as guys are usually being distracted by one thing or another, and miss half of what's said!

Men definately miss more because they don't listen. Its because women can multitask - i.e Earwig in 3 conversations and know the up to date gossip on anything and everyone while men can only concentrate on one thing at once. :D

I agree, most men stay out of the drama. But some get into it if they feel passionatly about something. I've watched as one man at this forum was in a heated thread for awhile. Maybe it just depends on the subject in question.

Men are trained from birth to be stoic and unemotional. Just look at the rules of the playground, it's OK for girls to cry, but boys don't cry.

Guys don't seem to carry a grudge as much either, for example, I had two boys that were fighting earlier this year, the other day I asked one, "How's it going with the other guy?" He replied, "Huh? Oh, I don't talk to him anymore and he' s over it too."

I had two girls fighting all year long. I asked one, "What's this about?" She replied, "She called me a B**ch in the fourth grade!" :wah:

True, men get dramatic about their passions.

(Yeah...I'll bet she was talking about me. Jives walks off muttering with his hands in his pockets.) :o

True, when I get really really upset, I get quiet until I get home, then I go out back and split logs with a sledgehammer!

Also, I should point out that often jobs themselves, train men to be unemotional. When I was a fighter pilot, we were specifically trained to get calm in emergencies. After all, a screaming, feaking-out fighter pilot isn't a very good idea!

The worse the emergency, the calmer I get. (It drives Mrs. Ives crazy):D

Men are more reasonable about drama, try to not get entangled in it, and forget about bringing it home. I wish I could that...............

*sigh, watching hubby too busy watching TV to listen to the latest drama*

Seriously, possibly because what IS a drama to women, isn`t always a drama to men. As an example, my wife constantly worries about what might happen in the future with regard pension, money, etc. I honestly have a lot of thoughts and worries, too, but can`t get over-excited about something that may or may not happen, we just don`t know, so perhaps I seem to not be making a drama about it.

My husband avoids drama by not talking about it (whatever "it" may be at the time). If you don't talk about it, you can't argue about it, therefore it doesn't exist.
