Pics from RIA Novosti. Look around the links for more. #17 is the MIL MI-28 Havoc. If ugly was armor it would be invincible.

Not a problem. Here's some more pics. The SU-34 Fullback is my favorite of all Russian planes. It's the blue one with the small wings in front. It's a strike aircraft like the Aardvark just far far more advanced. It even has a toilet in it behind the cockpit supposedly. The long tube in back is for a radar and ECM.

Why's the cockpit so far forward?

If the forward control surface were actually the front of the aircraft, and the cockpit moved back to the midline in front of the tail, the plane would presumably handle the same way but the pilot would be driving more of a long-bonnet Jaguar D-type than a Sukhoi. It would take less space if nothing else.

I think it's because of the design of the nose. It's flat like the nose of a platypus with only a radar in front. The flat nose aids lift and cuts down it's radar signature. The hump behind the cockpit is where all of the various electronic systems main parts are along with the canard controls. I think this makes the center of gravity more central and therefore more stable.
