yep they've stopped all internet donations. paypal etc won't work .

It's worse than that because they'll retrospectively track back those who have made such donations in the past and mark them for investigation.

In its disregard for international law it goes beyond self defense and even beyond the vindictive - 1984 anyone?

And yet child porn can't be controlled on the internet ...all these agencies ............maybe they should turn to wikileaks they are supported by donations....... oh dear me thinks .

It is not the internet it is the establishment in the form of Banks, all protecting themselves.

What are the banks protecting themselves from if no-one is making threats? It is not the internet, it is the organization applying the pressure that should be in the spotlight.

Cheques are almost as traceable - again it is down to pressure on the bank holding the receiving account. The only safe way would be to hand over cash is a dark alley.

Thought I said it wasn't the internet.

Any payment made through the internet must go to a bank before getting to the payee, so it is not all banks, they have a bank to make payments into presumably.

I don't think anyone is after tracing who makes payments, are they ?

Thought they were just making it difficult/impossible to make card payments online, so it is the third party payment gateways such as paypal etc that are stopping the payments being processed.

So what pressure and by whom is being brought to bear ?

Getting interesting now. After the riots in the UK it was reported that the US had contingency plans to use troops which I find hard to believe I can't see US police or troops opening fire on demonstrators in this day and age.
