I've been in the process of watching AFI 100 top movies... just curious..... how many have you watched... i've asked my Grandparent's and they've about finished the list... i'm still..... a long ways from seeing them all! right now i'm in the middle of Lawrence of Arabia... it's been three weeks that i've tried haha... anyways here's the list... http://www.afi.com/Docs/100Years/100Movies.pdf

haha so not fairrrrr! i'm struggling through this movie.... it's so boring lol

I have seen every one of the films on the list and at today's $7.50 per ticket for a Senior Matinee rate that would be a tidy sum, however, some of those older films I only paid from 25 cents to 90 cents, and as a theatre usher when in high school a few of them were free.

If you are not enjoying it , don't watch it.

Just because it's a classic doesn't mean you 'have' to enjoy it, come back to it later, you might appreciate it better then.



I am surprised how many of them I have seen, I am not a great film goer, most are TV viewings, many are half remembered, some I am unsure.

The only one on that list that I cannot say that I have seen at least once is Blade Runner.

I've seen most of these movies and thoroughly enjoyed the majority. I remember when the list came out a while back but I can't remember the criteria they used to compile it ... $'s grossed ... # of awards?

For years I felt like I was the only person on the planet who was bored to tears by Star Wars ... there ... I've admitted it ... now you know my secret shame! :yh_sleep

Maybe seeing it on a large screen would help, the photography is what startles people. Peter O'Toole always was a ham actor; Alec Guinness should have stayed well clear but put in a mesmerising performance anyway - like he did in Star Wars and Passage To India; and how could anyone not be impressed by Omar Sharif.

I reckon I've seen 60 of your films. I've no great desire to see the other 40 or I'd have done so.

I make it twenty eight but I was never a great filmgoer and most of the ones I have seen have been on the small screen.

The first one was great, but mostly because of the special effects. It was quite a step in that arena. For the seventies, it was as big a step as Avatar was for this decade.

The sequels were a steady decline.

Turner Classic Movies has helped me a lot to fill in the blanks, my wife and I both love that channel.

lol ... I know!! That sort of information that can affect personal relationships, sabotage careers, cause exclusion from clubs and in general create havoc in a person's life! So you understand why I've kept it secret all these years ... till I came clean on FG.
