I was thinking I had read this story before but no, there was another stray pit bull that saved a woman's life. The dog was almost euthanized due to her breed but was saved by a rescue group.

Sorry--------as much as I love dogs, pit bulls just ain't one of them. All the very many recent maulings have been by pit bulls. No reports of Cocker's, Labs, etc. involved in any deaths or maulings.
Ya gotta watch out for those vicious Pekinise though.:wah:

If they were not Illegal here I would welcome one Into my home but once they are born, It's not their fault that they are born the wrong breed or that man has bred them with Inbuilt traits to fight. The dog does not know that he Is doing anything wrong.
What needs to be done IMHO, Is we need to penalise heavilly those who breed them In the first place.
If man Is so Intolerant to them, then don't let them be born only to suffer.

One only has to look to Cesar Milan to see what can be achieved with Pit Bulls.

Au contrarie--------I happen to love people Oscar, but totally dislike rapists, thieves, child molesters, perverts etc., and it's even possible that some carry a bad gene.

I see your point Lon but humans have a certain amount of control over their actions... Dogs don't.
Pit bulls were historically bred to display dominance aggression toward other dogs—a relic of the breed's dog fighting past. They have a high pain thresh-hold and why they are used In dog fighting.
They are not a true breed but a hybrid of the Bull terrier and other terriers. It Is man who has modified them and now man wants rid of them... Typical trait of the human race.

I find all of that very sad and poignant.
Man has vilified them and now seeks to eradicate them.
