Amazing that it's value was estimated so low by professional auctioneers, amazing that it just happened to catch a Lalique collector's eye online and amazing that someone could or would pay that much for a hood ornament. I wonder if the new owner will actually mount it on a car or leave it inside for display. It's amazing what people will pay for rare things!
