Do any of you routinely cook with cast iron skillets or pans? Or is modern teflon coated cookware your preference? I don't know many people who use the cast iron these days but those who do swear by it. Or do you use another type of cookware altogether?

I bought a set of cast iron pans many moons ago, the fry pan was brilliant when 'seasoned' as good as if not better than teflon light weights.

It is now somewhere in the bottom of a cupboard rusted and forlorn, because it needs constant use and care........I may get it out and work on it, thanks for reminding me about it.

I'd marry my little cast iron skillet if I could.

I use cast Iron all the time.

It is great for all sorts of things.

I also have a set of non-stick pans for cooking eggs. And heavy aluminum pots for soups and sauces.

Primary is the cast iron skillets.

I like cast iron, but my beloved is petite and does most of the cooking, so nearly all our stuff is stainless steel & teflon.

I can sympathize. I'm not small by any means but the large skillet is too heavy for me to man handle.
