Saw Sherlock Holmes - A Game Of Shadows last Friday and found it an all round brilliant movie. Director Guy Ritchie, director of photography Philippe Rousselot, production designer Sarah Greenwood, editor James Herbert, costume designer Jenny Beavan, and composer Hans Zimmer have once again produced the goods.
Action moves from Victorian London, to France, Germany and finally Switzerland. The costumes are brilliantly accurate and the photography stunning. Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law have a great chemistry and Noomi Rapace fresh from “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is well cast as the gypsy Madam Simza Heron. Jared Harris as arch criminal Professor James Moriarty is excellent but the cameo role of Holmes’ brother Mycroft, played by Stephen Fry is my personal favourite.
