When I was seven, my father took me to the drive-in to see Dawn of the Dead. I spent most of it hiding in the back seat. :wah:

For a long time I had terrible zombie nightmares. I had other nightmares, but the zombie ones really seemed to scare me the most. In my teen years I started to love Horror movies. Especially the special effects and aspect of them. After a while my fear declined.

I had a zombie dream a few months ago, and I can’t call it a nightmare cause I wasn’t scared. It was more like, “*sigh* Now I gotta kill all these zombies.”

My advice would be:

Face your fears. If you think you can. Watch the movies, especially the later ones. I mean, the first one was pretty good but after that they got really corny. If you can laugh at them, they won’t scare you anymore.

Or..

After you have one do something to take your mind off it. Read for while, or watch a Disney movie. Anything really tame and not at all scary. Then try to go back to sleep.

I know i have not been on here in a very long time but i have a question for you all. In the last few days i have been having nightmares about Freddy Kruger. As a child even now as an adult I am TERRIFIED of the movies. In the nightmares he is chasing me and trying to kill me.. just like in the movies. I am not sure what it mean and I was wondering if maybe someone could help me. If you can't no biggie.. I am so tired and I really can't sleep.Hiya Susie i missed ya girlie!

I wont pretend to know anything about dreams, so can't offer any proffesional reason why you're dreaming of old FK.

But i would imagine that psychologists would say the you are running away from problems, something thats troubling you in reality.

You've had a very hectic few months and now that you've settled down with Tim, maybe something that was worrying you before the wedding has started to play on your mind a little.

But hey, what do i know! i do know that when i have a nightmare & wake up, (and i have to admit does happen when i have any problems) i switch on the hall light & get straight back into bed & think about nice things & the bad dream soon begins to fade, in the morning 9 times out of 10 i can't remember what it was about, the one time that i do recall it, was the time i've lay their trying to analize it!

I'm sorry that you'rs being troubled at this special time in your life Susie, take care xx :yh_hugs

Hi Susie! Welcome back!

It's kind of funny, just the other night at work a customer of mine and I were talking about dreams and their meanings. I told him of a dream I'd had where I was being chased by a guy with a gun, and I knew he would kill me if he caught up to me. I was running through a building, and finally got outside, and faked him out behind an obstacle, he stuck his gun around the obstacle to shoot at me, but I grabbed it from him, and shot him. My customer thought that maybe it was actually a very positive dream, because it symbolized that the path I was on in my life was the right one for me. I was making correct choices and coming out ahead. Does that make sense? The man is not an expert in dream analysis or anything, but I thought it was a pretty good analogy. Try googling "dream analysis" and there are all kinds of sites that will translate a dream for you. Usually it is not what it appears to be. Dreams are symbolic, you just have to find out what yours means.

Another thing I have found helpful, (I have suffered from reccurring nightmares for years) is that I can actually control the dreams. If I'm dreaming, and I can realize that I am dreaming, I can make things happen. If someone is after me, which is usually the case, I can turn the tables on him/her and kick their ass.

If you can understand your dream, maybe you can at least control it, if not quit having them altogether.

how gratifying to read about this. I keep having nightmares about being trapped in a TSUNAMI; this is possibly even more frightening than yours?!
