Peter Is home from the hospital.... as If It couldn't get worse, they have now found this...

I'd never heard of It until today.

Poor guy. I've had a toothache most of the day and I've been feeling very sorry for myself. I can't imagine suffering like he has. Best wishes to him.

I guess Peter is your husband? Didn't know he was ill, happy he is properly diagnosed & improving. Best wishes.

Oh, oscar, I didn't fully read your link to what is ailing Peter. I am so very sorry. I had cancer a few years ago. I was told I only had a small chance to live at all. But here it is almost 9 years later & I am still here bothering people. Please forgive me that I didn't fully read your link.

Peter was also found In the advanced stages of cancer 6 years ago and like you was given 9 months. He had major surgery and although It has come back as secondry,that Is not the main problem.

He was diagnosed with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and It Is that which causes him the problems.

The real cause of COPD and this UIP they've now found Is not really known although most assume It's smoking.

He goes to pain management at the hospital where other sufferer's have never smoked but they have worked all their lives on building sites etc. With my husband, there Is the possibility that It's due to the Jet engine fumes he breathed In during his years In The Air Force.

By co-Incidence, I watched a doco very recently about surviving fire fighters who went Into the Twin Towers having never smoked but now found to have COPD.
