A friend told me recently that she had taken a pile of old broken links and chains to a new place In Bristol buying gold and got a good price.
I didn't think much of It until this week when I have been gradually sorting out some bits to do a car boot sale.
I was also finding broken chains, links, and single earrings etc etc ..... None of It was fit for man nor beast so this afternoon I was going that way anyway and thought I'd Investigate...
They scanned each Item to ensure It was gold, and weighed It.
Looking at this small pile of rubbish, I'm thinking maybe £25 and that's a bonus for a pile of toot but no.............. £248 Thank You very much...

It's a great time to sell gold :wah: hubby got offered 800€ voor a chain and a ring (quite a thick chain). He said: No. The ring belonged to his grandpa, wich was made 40 years ago especially for him and was a gift from his wife. The ring that his wife had (wedding ring) was passed down to me. It wouldn't even cross my mind to even think about selling it.
I also have my great grandma's engagement ring. she used to pawn it every friday to pay for sunday dinner and buy it back after the weekend. One day the shop got robbed. Everything was stolen except for her engagement ring. The guy knew she'd pick it up after the weekends so he kept it in a special draw instead of the safe.

I have gold jewellry that I'd never sell. I also have gold handed down from my Grand Mother and Mother that I will pass on to the next generation.
The bits I sold was rubbish.... broken chains, single earrings etc..... they mean nothing.
