Sean Pertwee

This may be an astoundingly ignorant question but who on earth is Sean Pertwee and why.
My word it took some finding on IMDB - I've seen nothing at all that he ever did except his role as Hugh Beringar but that's where I recognize him from. He would appear to have been Bristoling when I was Londoning and vice versa or I'd have seen him on stage.
