WTF? Really? I keep looking for where Jesus said that being gay was a sin and teaching children to hate is a virtue, but I'm having difficulty finding it.

It is mentioned in Leviticus, but I figure there are a lot of things ahead of it we Christians ought to be concerned about before we get to that.

And from what I can tell, God wants us to worry about our own behavior before we get all highfalutin' about what other folks are up to.

Actually, it was very specific, to not wear a cloth woven of both linen and wool.

I suspect there was a fairly logical justification for that.

One of my biggest complaint with my fellow Christians is how they pick and choose which Dasn't-does they will get after other people over.

There is a list of some 613 "commandments" given to the Jews as laws. These modern day Fundies get on our case over one or two of these laws, but how many do THEY follow.

For instance, it is forbidden to shave you beard. Most of these fundies are clean-shaven. And THAT rule is 100 further up the list than the one about men screwing men.

All sorts of stuff is on that list. And I figure if they can't check the whole list, they got no business gettin' on my case, or yours for not obeying the rules.

Something about casting the first stone, and cleaning your own mess up before frettin over your neighbor's mess.

Dayum!!! This is seriously....depressing. How can any person in their right mind brainwash a child into this kind of thinking?? Children are a blessing and a gift. All too often they are given to people who believe differently.

Depends on your point if view does it not? does failing to bring your child up to know jesus not also constitute a form of child abuse? How about homosexuals who also have children does their lifestyle not leave their children open to ridicule and abuse. The children of single mothers get it all the time and in the national press no less - bear in mind the majority of single patents end up that way because of divorce or death. Single mothers must be sinful because sex is the original sin and the only place for sex is within in marriage. Religion has it's own logic.
