When Aberystwyth experiment created a world without traffic wardens | Mail Online

I find this article very Interesting.

Next week I have a council meeting with Highways and Byways and Councilors to report on how the new parking restrictions we had put In our Close to stop selfish parent parking for the school next to my home.

Because the Council virtually made It Impossible for parents to drive Into the Close, we ran the experiment ( phase one ) without the aid of Traffic Wardens.

At first It was brilliant. We weren't blocked In our homes, blocked out of our homes, no property damaged by morons who can't drive, park or reverse and emergency services If needed, could enter and exit smoothly.

After a very short period of time, these parents realised that there was no-one there to enforce the new regulations and yellow lines.

They now continue to park on pavements, block dropped kerbs and force small children to walk Into the road to get around them which they then start to reverse Into because the Close Is a dead end.

We will be looking at phase two now which Is enforcement meaning Traffic Wardens.

I know many people hate Traffic Wardens but I agree we really can't do without them.
