The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.

Nowadays he would be a very strange man who wrote about little boys who didn't grow up and odds are it would not get published.

Faith is good, but to fly, wings help immensely.

Ever heard this quote: "Faith can move a mountain?" Well its like similar only we using birds here Kev. Go watch a documentary on birds or better still go out into the wild and find a birds nest with chicks in it who are about to leave the nest. They like stand on a branch and flap their wings and then .... voilà! They launch themselves off the branch into the unknown ... why? Cos they have faith ... and they fly away!

I have yet to see a gorilla jump from an equivalent height compared to body mass/distance.

Gorillas have no faith in their ability to fly.

Of course they don't have wings either.

So I guess it's faith in your wings that really matters.

Do you reckon that the gorilla makes the connection?

Ostrich has wings, but doesn't fly.

Wings, but no faith.

Hmm. Perhaps the man was right.

Hmm. Perhaps the man was right. The ostrich is irrelevant because you cannot fly without wings. I have nipples but I've yet to know why. One would never attempt to fly if they didn't have wings so having faith is perhaps better left up to those that feel it's worth something beyond what exactly? How does one find out if they have faith? A bird knows it can fly before it leaps, I think the metaphor is *** backwards.

To have faith is to not know why

That is a common misconception.Despairing of the fairies, he resolved to consult the birds, but now he remembered, as an odd thing, that all the birds on the weeping beech had flown away when he alighted on it, and though that had not troubled him at the time, he saw its meaning now. Every living thing was shunning him. Poor little Peter Pan, he sat down and cried, and even then he did not know that, for a bird, he was sitting on his wrong part. It is a blessing that he did not know, for otherwise he would have lost faith in his power to fly, and the moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it. The reason birds can fly and we can't is simply that they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings. Literature.org - The Online Literature Library

We all start life in the womb as females. Unless there is an introduction of the male chromosome then we continue to develop as female. So we are all born with certain common characteristics ie nipples

But seriously, I think we all as males, have the mechanics in place to lactate but thankfully not enough to be of any use

It's a metaphor you'll do your head in if you take it literally. Another way of putting it might be if you believe you can do something you will achieve it - as an American you must have heard that one all your life.
