In looking at U.S. demographics I see that the U.S. population for 2012 is 314,161,000 and in year 2000 it was 281,000,000. Our current unemployment is over 8%, so I ask, is there a possible connection between rapid growth via immigration and unemployment? Is it possible that our huge financial outlay for Social Welfare Benefits is attributable to our surge in population. Is it possible that with the outsourcing of much labor there is not sufficient opportunities to put every one to work? If we were to cease immediately all immigration would it gradually turn things around? Could or should this be part of a Political Platform for either Dems or Repubs?

I'm inclined to curb into immigration in a big way. There's too much abuse of the system. I also think social services such as welfare must be strictly monitored. I see far too much abuse of it.
I think that immigration does affect employment, I read that there are more people immigrating each year than jobs are being created. I guess it helps to keep wages low and people barely scraping by. We need to change the system bigtime.

I wonder how much a trend to working "under the table" contributes to the unemployment rates being inflated. More and more jobs are trying to get out of minimum wage and lots of immigrants work as nannies and other jobs that are typically not documented properly.

So you think that immigrant workers are more responsible for high unemployment than the outsourcing of jobs to other countries?

So you think immigrants are more responsible for your malaise than duplicitous presidents and a crooked banking system?

Of course. All the evils that have befallen the American Continents are a direct result of immigration, documented and otherwise.
