I had a customer try to rile me up from the moment she arrived. I made it through the entire exchange without responding in anger. When she got what she came for (physically, not emotionally) I wished for her to "Have a great day" when she left.
She flipped her lid. Practically screamed "You SHOULDN'T say things you DON'T mean!!" then over her shoulder on the way out "People WILL figure you out!"
Did one of you send her?
haha.
Weird thing is that, out of all the times I say that in a day, I actually did want to wish her day to improve. I was hoping that my refusal to be riled would help her lighten up.

Should have added that ten minutes later the next person who came along asked me for the same thing (his parcel at the post office) and I asked "I dunno, are you gonna yell at me?" He said "I wasn't planning on it," and we both had a jolly good time with him never finding out why I asked.

You get far too much excitement, I've no idea how you manage to attract it.

The pharmacy has its own circus going on right next to us. People and their meds! At least it's not the downtown location that offers methadone.

I know! We're frickin' psycho. You don't want to mess with us. We say things like "Have a great day" and don't always mean it.

'Have a nice day' has been adopted over here, McDonalds were the first ones to start it over here and for some reason the saying has been rolled out across most retailers now. It's cringe making, none of them mean it, they just have to say it because apparently it's good customer relations :wah:.
What would be good is if they could just have some personality and tailor greetings and farewells to the customers, mix them up a bit so it doesn't sound so fake.

Darn! We're too late.
Steve Carell’s post-‘Office’ life: A new NBC comedy
NBC says the single-camera comedy is "a sweet and nostalgic take on the period of Carell's early life as a U.S. Post Office mail carrier and centers on a small-town post office frequented by a quirky but tight-knit group of local twentysomethings."

Sounds like Friends in period costume. Wouldn't we be going for a slightly edgier market? I may be overstating a bit for the sake of empahsis, but I was thinking rather than:
Customer (enters PO): I'd like to send this parcel.
Koan : Certainly dear. My, what a beautiful dress that is...etc etc
This would be rather more:
Customer (enters PO): I'd like to send this parcel.
Koan: Die, worm! (Customer is vapourised by lightning bolt).

The trouble with Ming is that you can be confused with Fu Manchu without a lot of expensive props (spaceships, armies, that sort of thing). Why not go more General Kala?
