Why does someone saying **** appeal so much?

They go to a stale crime scene, look at the photos, work out what happened and find missing evidence. The whole time the only words spoken are a variation of a single word. That word happens to be an expletive... mostly because they're Baltimore cops. If it was Fargo the word(s) would have been "you betcha"

That makes more sense was kind of wondering some american programmes seem to make a big deal out of bad language with warnings about the language content - blow apart as any as you like just don't swear while you're doing it.
