You'd think In these times of recession , companies would be welcoming work and offering a reasonable service.

I've just had one of the most annoying conversations that I've had In recent years.

Approx 16 weeks ago, the seal blew In a sealed unit In one of the lounge windows. I rang the company who originally put them In some years back and asked them to replace It.

A week later, what can loosely be describes as a man turned up and took the measurements.

Weeks went by and I heard nothing so I rang again to be asked " Can we start all over again as the man who took your measurements went on holiday for a few weeks and has now lost them"?

They arranged for him to come round today from 10am to 4 pm and re-take the measurements. I waited In all day and he never showed up.

I've just rung the company to be told " Yes, he's been to you".

Errr don't think so.

Yes, he has.

I can assure you he hasn't.

You might have missed him. Did you go out?

No, I have been here all day.

I have two terriers who trust me can wake the City the moment anyone comes anywhere near my gate...
