Shouldn't someone else be arrested for letting a child be the caregiver for the adult?

That's the newest thing. I'm trying not to imagine the things that were being asked of that boy. It just grosses me out. And if he's 11 now, how old was he when this started?

It's so incredibly hard for even adults to be caregivers, that I just

can't see how on Earth this was allowed to go on. There's quite

a bit of depression among baby boomers taking care of aging

parents, and this kid was being asked far too much.

The man at the end of the video clip, who talked through the

door, who was that?

Off topic but how do they afford a fairly nice house in what looks like a nice neighborhood? California house prices are still pretty high, aren't they? I know Elk Grove isn't a terribly desirable neighborhood in Sacramento but considering the circumstances, they looked to be living comfortably. Weird situation.

Maybe just renting, rents aren't too high in Elk Grove usually.

I must have missed some of the story. I saw the part where the man wouldn't open the door but they made it sound like the 11 year old was her only caretaker and I couldn't figure where the man fit into things.

I don't think you missed anything, but I couldn't figure it all out, either.

Maybe more will come out at a later time.

They did a study into Australian primary caregivers . What shocked a lot of people were the number of children in that position. So it's not unheard of I suppose , just swept under the carpet.

The mom in this case has passed away, although the report said it wasn't

injuries from her beating, but her prior medical condition.

That kid's going to need counseling for the rest of his life... you know he probably blames himself for her death.
