Depending on what state he lands In and Is tried In.... he could face the death penalty... we can't do that here.

I believe he'd be subject to our federal court system, or even perhaps a special court for terrorists, if any court at all for that matter. Our government might just throw him in Gitmo for a few decades without any trials at all.

I'd prefer innocent until proven guilty though, even for suspected terrorists. Which means I'd prefer he have access to our court system to it's fullest measure.

And why do you think he's In a UK prison already?

That doesn't mean he's guilty of any crimes here. We're not going to adjudicate UK charges. The only reason for extradition is so he can stand trial for crimes against the US, not the UK. The article you linked refers to him as an "alleged terrorist".

That's different. The guy was sick and required some fairly extensive medical care. They didn't want to end up working to keep the bugger alive, just so they could keep him in prison.

I do not think he should have been released. It took him years to die, & he did so in the loving company of friends & family. Unlike the victims of Lockerbie. A sentence is a sentence unless there is a new trial. And, of course those rumors of oil deals..........

He Is not a suspect... he Is a convicted terrorist.


Convicted yes, but was this done by a jury of his piers? I have no love for this guy but justice has no meaning if it is not equal. I want G Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Darth Cheney next to this guy in the docket. Along with a few others. What has been done by many Americans over many years to the people of the Arab world is part of the reason we are here now.
