I've never seen the show so I went over to TLC and watched a clip of them at bingo. Pretty damn funny. :wah:

I like them because they dont have much but they have so much fun together with what they DO have. I think they also love eachother so much and it shows. I would give anything to be part of that family. The little girl is just too sweet. She even said "homemade gifts are the best because they come from the heart." What 7 year old pageant queen says that????

Can't stand the show - can't believe it's a form of entertainment.
I.Q. for the whole family is 20.
They'll make a reality show of nothing..
waste of time.

I don't understand people that enter a thread where they don't like the subject and have nothing good to say about it and insist on saying something anyway, insulting and embarrassing the creator of that thread. What's the point? Keep it to yourself and feel superior in private.

I don't feel superior.
I am flabbergasted.
I guess my problem is that the producers put those people on TV to entertain.
I always hated it when my cousins and I were out in public and folks found their antics so amusing.
I was torn between hiding my face and charging admission.
Obviously I should have set up the ticket booth.

Your post wasn't insulting, you asked a simple question. No worries.

I think she might have been referring to Ole Pink Eye, because her comment was a) superior (since she referred to the family as dumb, i.e. the IQ of 20 comment) and b) a waste of time (obviously she doesnt like the show).
I have an IQ of 163 according to tests, but if Im mean and judgemental, who cares? Is my life rich? I think this family has a lot to teach people, especially in the way of real riches being relationships with people and not material things. Just my opinion.

You like what you like and it's no one's place here to judge you and insult you for it.

Relationships with people and not material things ARE important, so
if that's what this show passes on, then good.
I have a little family that is very important in my life, and one of the things
that amazes me is we do those family, more old-timey things. The 10 year
old (my grandson in every way but DNA!) always wants to play Monopoly
when I get up there for a visit. We have campfires and sit around and talk
at night. Good stuff.

I only saw a brief clip but I liked the mother's attitude. She's not self-conscious about looking silly and she even joked about her bingo face. No one is putting on airs in this show.

OMGosh Val! I love that saying! My son is adopted and from now on he is mine "in every way but DNA". How cute! I love it!

I agree with you. Folks are who they are. I have been around people like them for a good part of my life, though, and don't really find it all that entertaining to watch them on TV. I get to see them twice a year when I go home.
But, if some good comes of it for someone, I will just stay out of the way.
The girl is cute, I gotta say.

Thanks, I made that up myownself!!
His bio grandma was my best friend for 33 years until her death.
There is no replacing her, but we DO have a very, very close
relationship, and when I go pick him up from school sometimes
he has no problem running up and throwing his arms around me,
makes me just melt. He doesn't care that the other kids see
him showing affection. :-4
Like I said, the good stuff.
