I'm more early 70's, even late 60's. Thunderclap Newman is '69, Abbey Road is '68. Led Zepellin II is 69.

Not to say I didnt appreciate what came after but I did like the grungy as well as the glam

I didn't like the grunge or the glam rock at all.

The Stranglers were my Inspiration.

Clapton, Bowie, Bad Company, Queen, Frampton... yeah, there was some amazing music back then.

Does anyone remember ' Disco Tex and the Sexalets'... we used to go to The Top Rank Suite In Brighton and It was a very early form of line dancing as I recall.

Then we had Northern Soul... The Average White band and K.C and The Sunshine Band

My brother did, down here in our little town. They were booked to play just as they made it with their first number 1. Normally bands pulled out of their small gigs when they'd got a hit but Queen didn't. They played to a packed nightclub :wah:

They played at Red Rocks Last summer, too.

They's a tad older'n last time I saw 'em, but then so am I.

Yeah they honoured all their outstanding gigs one of the very few bands to do so when they make it big, then against that's maybe one of the reasons they lasted - didn't become too big headed

One of my fond memories was of a rock festival near Atlanta. They had all of the big names, of course, and many more. On day two, they lost power for a few hours. The drummers from several groups set their rigs up on stage at the same time and began to jam. It was great!

I was there, too. great time. Though it was awfully hot, and shade was hard to come by. We had some of Owsley's finest the second day and all I remember was being really HOT.

Yup. Hot and dusty. I remember that I had great fun trading Kool cigarettes for joints. I traded away a lot of cigarettes.

One of my best memories was the Santana concert at the Auditorium when the Allman Bros were the opener.

They put on such a great show that the crowd was almost disappointed when they quit so Santana could come out.

Then Carlos called them back onstage to jam after his routine was done.

What a night. The Allman Brothers took off after that.

Santana played with the Allman Brothers in a concert a couple of months ago, but I doubt that it had the magic of that concert long ago.

Actually the eighties were pretty crap as well, career with prospects get there and then look back wandering why the ---- did I bother.
