I should thank gmc for weaning me off my addiction to Gold Blend and putting me onto some of the Sainsbury own brand coffee's.

I've been trying various strengths for some weeks now and can't praise them enough.

Peter would have nothing else but sump oil so always ground his own Turkish coffee beans acquired from the local Turkish deli. He's now on a Sainsbury own blend that still looks like sump oil and Is far too strong for me. I like the sweeter blends.

Instead of putting in more spoonfuls try getting a stronger better quality coffee. Nescafe is like dishwater. I do drink nescafe and dowe egberts but it's just not the same imo

Douwe Egberts for me has a fairly strong taste without the bitterness which for an instant coffee is fine for me, otherwise I do like a decent filtered coffee. She who must be obeyed just likes that sump oil taste first thing in the morning. I guess it has little to do with flavour, more a wake up call
