did anyone catch the documentary about britains hidden hungry this followed a charity food bank and the needy people who visited it.

there was also a piece about it in the sun part of which i,ve included in this mornings column

THE number of hungry Brits relying on emergency charity food handouts to survive has soared, figures reveal.

Nearly 110,000 people turned to the Trussell Trust from April to September compared to 132,660 for the entire previous 12 months.

The organisation, which provides staples such as tinned meat, veg and cereal, is on course to feed more than 200,000 in the current financial year.

Struggling families in the South West are most dependent with 21,000 people including 7,000 kids needing help so far this year.

one woman stated because she wanted to work she is in the mess she,s in now.

YES WANTED TO WORK!! some of us brits still do want to go to work but the stupid and unbalanced system makes it more worthwhile to stay at home on the dole than work and be worse off.

will our political masters take their noses out of the trough and see these figures for the hungry and do something about it? will they neddy!!!

Don't worry grumpy, cameron wants to do away with the minimum wage so employers can pay even less to make them more profitable and stimulate the economy and take away the benefits for anyone who refuses to be exploited, sorry accept employment, better still he is going to make them work for nothing so they can get work experience stacking shelves and the like for some of the most profitable businesses in the country. After all if you're poor and can't get a job everyone knows you are feckless and not really trying. Meanwhile they have voted themselves another pay rise and it's expenses as usual. The poor will starve to death soon and the cold is coming and they can't afford to heat their homes also that will kill off a few of the elderly - those lazy bastards that should be forced to work to get their state pension - think what that will save on long term care costs. Luckily the profits from the once state owned power companies are now all safely sent abroad and isn't that a good thing?

GDP growth 1% this year Inflation 3-4%. In most arithmetic books that means your economy is shrinking at a real rate of 3%. Aren't ypu glad our chancellor didn't go to a state school so he can tell us all we are out of recession.

I watched the programme last night and I was shocked, I never realised there were food banks in the UK!

I spoke to my sister who works for the benefits agency and she said that chits are given out on a daily basis, mainly for people who are having to wait for appointments or whose benefits they have cocked up.

As I watched I wondered if Ca-moron was watching and feeling as sad as I was at the deprivation....fat chance!

I was shocked too, was sad to see that man interrogate people over their reasons for being there, like that poor woman who worked and then lost everything because of the stupid way the benefits are set, yet he doled out food and ignored the 'need a ticket' to receive anything for that bloke!

Some weeks if it weren't for my family I'd be looking for a food bank too.

Hopefully they will go far left and start burning the banks down and renationalising the railways and utility companies. Right now if anyone suggested that as a platform bet they would get in. A large part of the program was taken up by a con artist who worked part time as a van driver, he pleaded poverty for a birthday present for his child, but the birthday was long past. He had received £500 worth of food

What the program said to me, that there will always be people too proud to ask for help, and others that will want everything they can get and lie and cheat to get it, at the expence of others.

The Welfare state and the Benefit system should be able to cope with feeding people without them going to outside charitable agencies, that was what it was set up for after all.

The problem has been created by a nanny state Labour government where It was more beneficial to claim welfare than to work.

Then came along Cama-moron who decided to save the country. Instead of hitting the bankers and curbing mass bonus's, he got stuck Into the welfare state cutting child benefits and disability payments.

It's a complete **** up from start to finish.

By all means, means test those In receipt of child benefit If they earn over £50,000 but at least re-distribute that welfare to those who are struggling so charity run food banks are not needed.
