Have You Ever Fed a Stray Cat?

... and then wondered where this moggy came from? My daughter bought a Chinchilla cat ... kinda white sort of "Persian" type feline that cost her three grand. OMG ... three grand??? What could I have done with such a fortune in folding stuff?

So the breeder told them ... "Nevva evva let this cat out your house cos this is NOT your average mouse hunting, howling, moaning, squealing & carousing at night type of cat! This is like a state of the art type animal ... the Rolls Royce of cats."

So as this white work of art grew older, it eventually like forced its way out a window and did its thing before returning to its soft, gilded cushion beside mama's bed.

Until last week that is. Then despite nightly frantic calls ... said cat has not returned and despite posting "lost cat" notices in every supermarket, seven eleven et al ... no luck.

So I guess the "catnappers" have got him and Tevan is three thousand semoleans down the drain.

I told her ... "Buy a goldfish cos who is gonna fishnap a goldfish?"

Maybe the local fish and chips shop???

Yes catnappers.

I have a pedigree Persian cat and my garden Is so securely fenced with fencing high enough that he can't get out. When he does go Into the garden, we send the dogs out with him who would wake the dead should anyone come near out gate after him.

My betting Is your daughters cat has already been sold on to a breeder.... great shame... I hope for a safe return.

Yes, I fed a stray once. He rubbed against me, and the flea traffic I saw on his back looked like a helicopter view of Los Angeles. I hosed off my leg and went inside, but left the food (he was so boney!). The cat went away after awhile.

At our last home, there were a lot of stray cats.

There were also a lot of squirrels.

The cats were the only thing that kept the squirrel population in check.

So I did feed them on occasion. Not so much that they would get lazy about the squirrels, but enough to keep them hanging about to hunt squirrels.

none ever wanted in the house. they were perfectly happy to remain outdoors.

I seldom interfered with them, either, other than to make sure there was always some places for them to find shelter from inclement weather.

Here, there are very few cats, at all, and the ones that do wander by have collars and seem to expect me to let them in and feed them.

They are all fat and spoiled, just like the neighbor kids.
