My Friend Micka!

I have a good buddy Michael whom I have known since we both like 10 or 11. Over the years he has morphed from being called Michael to Mike then Mick and now we call him Micka. You know how it goes.
Anyway Micka is rather well off financially; in fact his whole family is very wealthy. When I say wealthy, I mean like when Micka dies, his only child Micka Junior is gonna inherit a fortune of between 40 and 50 million.
Now Micka the younger, who is incidentally my godson, is a guy in his early forties with his father's good looks and all the charm in the world. But he hasn't worked a day in his life and when he was 12, he took his father's limited edition BMW convertible without dad's permission and wrapped it around a lamp post ... totaled it. He has travelled around the world several times on the QE2 and once when he was fourteen, a wealthy American heiress kept him hostage in her cabin as her sex slave for three or four days! He's never married and spends his life having a good time.
I had noticed over the last year or so that the lad had not been around very much and when I had lunch with Micka Senior recently, I asked after my godson. He told me that his son was addicted to alcohol and that he had checked him into every rehab in the country but that nothing seemed to have helped. The boy simply walked away after a few days and continued with his drinking.
When I asked my buddy why he kept bailing his son out, he replied: "Jj, if I don't take care of him, who will?"
Which got me thinking. Here is a youngster, born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth who has everything money can buy. Yet he is no different from the wino in the alley next door, who drinks himself into a stupor every day.
And Micka my good buddy, with all his wealth, is powerless to help his son.
So a question: Why is it that I and Micka Senior can party for a whole weekend, drinking every alcoholic mix known to man, but can still be behind our desk at the office 9am the next morning, while Micka Junior is an alcoholic?
