I think Obama should keep out of this. The republican governor is clearly on the side of management. The union has already given 90 days for a negotiated settlement. Management knows that the public has been persuaded that they are right and that busting unions is a cure all for local economic woes. yup. Gov't should keep out of it unless & until someone breaks the law. If they need arbitration there are plenty of contractors that will gladly offer their services.

Invoking Taft-Hartley would extend the time for negotiation. However, if they have been working on this since March, not sure of the point of extending it.

A strike may be the only thing that brings the parties to a resolution.
