Seems like it would be a good way to just make new friends, too. It doesn't have to be a date. I'm not a patient person at all and I can usually tell real quick if I'm going to click with someone or not. As friends, that is. I'd try it in a heartbeat, just to say I did! You thinking of trying this out anew?

I saw a 4 minute dating setup on TV before. Lots of people, divided among the sexes, moving down a sort of conveyer belt meeting eachother till a bell rings at 4 minutes, when you move to the next seat & repeat! It looks very noisy and awkward but I would be game for sure! You meet about 25-50 people, there is no pressure or silent moments and you pick whom you liked the best. Most assuredly more comfortable than being seated in a quiet restaurant and searching for conversation!

Speed dating is very popular here in the UK, but I advise caution. It would be easy for example to be fooled by a con artist, an alcoholic or a thug who would only have to `put up a false appearance` for a total of about 20 minutes!

Anew bravo for looking into this. Yep in time you will want to date. I have heard speed dating is fun, and yes be careful and be choosey. But aim for friends to start with and really take things slow. Rushing means making rash decisions NOOOOOOO Goood. And when you decide to try it, have fun with it. One word of caution...watch and see if this is a big social circle and these people are regulars, and if they socialize together, if they do, beware, you being new, become the topic of conversation and dating one person and having it fail can mean your personal business becomes everyones business.

Sounds like fun to me....of couse it would take a few "real" dates with the person that I found interesting to see if they were compatible. ;)
