As trendy as they are and the appeal of being "non" corporate, non-proft organizations get plenty of poo-poo from academia to the media to Hollywood.
Many people simply think they are organizations full of volunteers or staffed by those whose priory is NOT money therefore drawing exceptionally thin salaries. Of course this is a result of wording and how the mind portrays "greed" in some aspects.
