Pterodactyls Turkeys

This morning I went for my usual Sunday morning hike and inadvertently came too close to a turkey nest full of eggs. It was covered by brush and I didn’t see it but mama turkey saw me and flew up at me out of the blue and it startled the dickens out of me!!
I wasn’t expecting it and clear out of nowhere, brown feathers and talons were hurling towards me in a menacing manner. For a few brief moments, until my thoughts cleared, I thought I was being attacked by a Pterodactyl!! What ?? .... it could happen!! Ha ha! You wouldn’t think a normally passive animal could be so scary but she had the advantage of maternal outrage plus the element of surprise ... otherwise I probably could have taken her. Okay, probably not but at least I would have conducted myself with perhaps a little more dignity instead of shrieking wildly and flailing my arms around as I retreated in a run in the other direction.
This is what it looked like at first:

But don’t be deceived by the mild appearance, she meant business!! :yh_chickn
