Six years back I saw her sing that on stage and she's still as raucous, it was a great moment.

Tonight, I discovered half an hour ago, I'm seeing Rolf Harris.

One of my children had, some months back, bought four tickets to see Rolf Harris at the Hippodrome this evening. One of his intended party - another of my children - is currently in Leningrad and consequently her ticket was spare. At six this evening it was offered to me and I went along with them to see the performance. It - the performance - will stay in my mind for quite a while, there were moments of subtext to go along with three standing ovations from the capacity audience. Rolf's choice of Goodnight Irene by Leadbelly for his encore was pretty pointed, for example, given his use of the unsanitised version.

I didn't stop listening to it because it was old. I stopped listening to it because I had heard it so many thousands of times I was completely burned out on it. Same reason you don't eat hamburgers for every meal.

I never stop looking for new and different music but I never forget what I grew up with. Thats the soundtrack of my life.

Oh, I have (according to my iTunes folder) 984 folders, 10,061 songs, and 50.74 GB of music. Trust me...I don't forget what I grew up with either, but some of it doesn't age as well as other stuff. Molly Hatchet falls in that category for me.

Thats a hefty thumping for Genesis at the hands of Ms & Ps. It's just me, a permanently stoned hippy friend of mine and Jeremy Clarkson then. That's OK, some stuff is an acquired taste and California Dreaming is a great track

Don't take it personally Snowie, I like Genesis, although I don't like Phil Collins, work that one out.

This is a track off an LP I have never heard, it might mean a lot to you, but not a lot to us onlookers.

Not a fan of him myself, which is why I prefer the early Gabriel inspired Genesis. Mad as a Hatter, Gabriel.

Then Collins slithered to the front when Gabriel left and things were never quite the same

The Long And Winding Road is a nice number and it's a Beatles' song. It's hard to vote against it even though it also is more original than the Warren Zevon/Lynard Skynard/Kid Rock tune. I like the video and the story behind the Kid Rock song, and so since this is a runaway anyhow, I'm going to cast my vote for All Summer Long.

That make the score for this one 6 to 2. The Long And Winding Road wins.

The Rascals are one of my all time favorite groups, I did a lot of listening to their music early on. But Linda Ronstadt rocks, especially in this song. In an era when rock-n-roll was so dominated by male bands and musicians Ronstadt was one of only a select few female artist to make it through, so she must have been good. The Ronstadt video is not the greatest quality but the performance is too good to pass up.

Linda Ronstadt must win on the strength of the song.....Heatwave

It's a Beautiful Morning !

That was a tough choice.

You know who Linda Ronstadt reminds me of in that video? She looks like Cindy Williams when she played Shirley on "Laverne & Shirley"! I never thought so before but in this particular video she reminded me of her, especially when the sound was off.
