I was raised by my grandparents who were about these people's age when I was born. It was not fun. I know men are able to have children all their lives but that doesn't mean it's fair to conceive a child when you know darned good and well you may be dead by the time they are in high school. I remember being woken up in the middle of the night to help my grandma care for my grandpa because she was too old to do it herself. He died when I was 11. I spent my teen years keeping house, cooking, caring for her and my younger brothers. It was not fun.

My joy for the parents at the pleasure of having twins is tempered by the fact that they will be elderly at just the time the kids want them to climb mountains, run fast, play soccer, etc (of course I acknowledge that some older folk are fitter than younger folk anyhow!)
