Hi I would like to get one of these, but I don't know which is the best one to go for. I would like it to play games while travelling and to send and receive e-mails and watch films on BBC Iplayer etc..

I have looked at the Kindle HD fire and the Kobo Arc, but I am still confused which is the best one. Can you help please?

I'm not familiar with a Kobo but I have a Kindle Fire and it does everything you mentioned and more. The price is good too. However you can probably find any 7 inch tablet for a comparable price that does all the same things.

My wife has had a Kindle Fire HD since Christmas and likes it very much. I'm not familiar with the Kobo either

check with places like your library - e books are available to borrow for free but not of you have a Kindle. Kobo is also half the price of kindle £50 or so if you look round and not produced by a monopolistic company that only wants you to download from them. I've been looking at them as well but must admit I still like real books though I can see the attraction. Try s shopping where you can touch and feel them and play about with them to see if you like them.

I like the Kindle because of the screen etc. I would still buy paperbacks because I can sell them afterwards. The only thing that made me think again about the Kindle HD fire was that I was told you have to pay £10 to remove the adverts and there is a downloading problem (as in converting files) which is often hindered by content requests for installing flash player.

I have seen the Google Nexus 7 Tablet PC (Android 4.1 Jellybean) - 32 GB which is similar to the Ipad at £202.00 on Amazon. Are they any good please?

The Google Nexus has had great reviews. I have an ipad, I bought it second hand and when I can wrench it from my wifes clutches, its a wonderful bit of kit but I would never buy a new one because of the cost

Thanks I have seen Kindle HD Fire tablets in Cash converters for £80, but I was a bit dubious as i was still thinking what model to go for as yet. Where are they selling the The Google Nexus 7 where I can look at it please?

I'd be very careful of buying second hand unless they come with some sort of warranty / guarantee.

John Lewis sell the Nexus 7 for £199.00, £239 for the 3G version

Amazon have them at £184.00, dearer for the 3G version

The Nexus is on sale in Amazon for £202.00. So it could be cheaper to buy in Argos? I would like to handle it first.

You should definitely try it out first. PC world, John Lewis or even Argos would, or should allow you to handle this before you buy and give you a full demonstration

PC World would let me try it out, I doubt if Argos would as they don't have any running.
