This would definitely be a great opportunity for an adventure but not surprisingly it sounds like they didn't have too many takers. Most people are at an airport with a clear destination in mind but I suppose if you were given a better option and were in a position to do so, it would be tempting!

There have been a few times I would have taken them up on such a deal.

Usually, though, when I am flying, I am going somewhere for work, and I reckon the boss would take a dim view of me hopping off to Marrakesh for a couple of days.
