A few months back, Dove had a promo video out there addressing the issue of women's often skewed perception of their appearance. I understand what their intent was and the message it was supposed to convey but I personally found the video annoying and vapid in its presentation. As is often the case, where I'm being led isn't where I usually end up. The media is getting sloppy!

Apparently I wasn't alone in rolling my eyes because someone came along and produced a video parody using men instead of women. Now THIS I like!! So funny!

There's an element of truth to both of them, it's just that I had a hard time with the first one for several reasons.

"My chin sticks out." Please. Wake me when it's over!

lol ... another perspective in this article. Apparently we see ourselves as better looking than we really are ... self-delusion? Survival technique? Poor eyesight? Who really knows!
