The Scots have been flocking off out of Scotland for years.........so is this something new ?

The SNP were originally going to have a third option of greater devolution within the UK most scots would probably have voted for that. It's actually Cameron that is forcing the yes or no vote. It might just backfire on him. The Daily Express in not exactly widely read in scotland and in anti independence. Fair to say they are aiming at their readership rather than the wider puiblic.

Younger people aged 18-34 and Tory voters were the most likely to consider emigrating.


Good riddance, tory voters are a rare species anyway.

Perhaps if the kids are moving away, it could become a retirement haven for the elderly.

It is already.

I have said this before, on here probably, but.....deep breathe......there are a higher percentage of English in Scotland than Scots in England, many elderly.

I am sure gmc tried to find out, or ran some numbers past us to help to prove or disprove my half remembered theory.

It's one of them ideas I am sure I heard but can never prove one way or the other, or when it has been disproved I just don't remember or dismiss the proof......Im like that.

I think us English should just build a wall right now to keep them up there.

I shall be visiting the place next month.

My son stays in Greenock, never been there, my daughter stays further up in Perthshire.

Actually tourists are very welcome. Glasgow itself might surprise you it's very far from being a dump. iI would also suggest you head up past loch lomond through glencoe and up to skye or continue from Kyle of Lochalsh up the coast.

Half hour walk in to it from the road. Just to clarify you really really can't see it from the road you walk over a hill and there is this big extinct caldera.

I am an old hand, not a tourist

My daughter has lived in Scotland for..........oh dear, well over 15 years, I have spent many summer and several hogmanys.

Have done Mull and Skye, passed through Edinburgh and Glasgow but never spent time in either.

My son stays in Greenock, I tell him it's grenock to wind him up, and this year we will be 'doing' Glasgow and Edinburgh I hope, before going up to Dalguise Perthshire

I'll have my last salad at Carlisle before I enter.
