What a strange week...

You know some of those weeks or days that are just so strange ?

Well I think i'm having one of those..

Well.. I've been a bit negative over the past months as **** has hit the fan quite a bit.. (Sorry for that :-3 ).. But this week has been all ups and dows..

Downs would be; my town on fire, and the death of that poor student, my grandma has dementia and not can't eat anything now except for liquid food, My nan with kidney failure, keeps having black outs (and hurting herself in the proces), I just heard my aunt has lung issues and might have a blood clot somewhere or other... And then just now, my washingmachine blew up!

On the upside; After months of fighting my mum and I just got a multinational company to cave in :wah: (Dads ill, and his employer wouldn't pay him or stick to his reintegration into a suitable workplace). And my very shy cat just came up for a cuddle for the very first time :)

I am now going to enjoy my victory whilst washing my clothes by hand! :yh_rotfl (any tips on washing clothes by hand, are very welcome by the way ! :wah: )

Anyone else had something strange or wonderful happen lately?

It can seem the world Is against you when the negatives outweigh the positives Chloe.

I am sorry that you have so many troubles and hope one by one they sort themselves out. What I have learned, Is that worrying yourself silly will only sap your energy and leave you In no condition mentally or physically to cope. That said, It's quite normal that we feel some guilt when we have moments of enjoyment or moments where we momentarilly forget our troubles.

My husband Is very seriously Ill right now and has been In and out of hospital In the past few weeks. He has no left lung and only two thirds gas exchange and lung capacity In the right one. He has 2 terminal lung conditions and the prognosis Is not good. I dread the winter because because the cold weather affects him so badly but this year, It's been particually bad. In fact, his consultant said only a few days ago that the slightest sign of a sniffle and we must call them as dangerous times are ahead.

I find It tough sometimes, working and having to do everything around the house but I try hard every day to find something to be grateful for. My husband and I laugh a lot which helps and I am blessed with a large family, friends and support network. But I sympathise with you because there are always days when everything seems Insurmountable.

The worry does drain energy.. normally i would have been so pissed off with the washingmachine breaking but as energy is a bit on the low side and more imporantant

things are going on in my life, I just stood there and said: o well..

I'm sorry to hear about you and your husband, as that must be so difficult. But I'm glad to hear you and your husband enjoy a good laugh and you're blessed with many family members and friends.

I try to stay positive and focus on the good things, like our victory on taking that company down, or just the small things like; a nice cuddle with my cats. They always brighten my day and remind me to keep going.

I know how you feel about the washing machine Chloe.

Mine after 15 years ground to a halt last Christmas. It was In the middle of the bank holidays and I foolhardly thought It was no big deal because I'd hand wash.

Smalls and tee-shirts fine until It came to bedding, dogs blankets etc etc. It was raining every day and I had mountains of washing on every radiator not drying, slowly starting to smell.

I have never been so relieved, almost orgasmic when my new washer/dryer was delivered.

How my Grandmother coped back In her day beggers belief.

It's sad to hear that you, Chloe, & you Oscar, have such deep concerns. I wish you both well & want to thank you both for sharing your hearts.

Thanks Anne... I appreciate that !!!

Like Chloe, I have good and bad days. When I have good days, I'm then racked with guilt that I have momentarilly forgotten the problems as mad as that may sound.

But I am grateful... I've had a long and happy marraige with a man who adores me, as big headed as that sounds.

As I said to Chloe, It's looking for the positives In among the negatives.

Better after Anne's post! :)

I take my acid meds at night and in the morning now, but after the washingmachine blowing up, I forgot to take them last night! Terrible reflux today..

But I made it through the work day, I just got home 30 minutes ago and 4 fuzzy faces came to greet me :D Strange how pets can make us feel so much better and help us to relax after a bad work day ..

How's your day been?

That's good to hear... promise me, you'll try to drink as much full fat milk before you go to bed as you can... It'll help... I promise.

I've actually had a really good day today. Been working from home which means I can keep an eye on Peter who's a little perkier today. At all costs I'm trying to avoid him leaving the house for any reason because of the damp air.

Milk makes my guts go a bit funny, but better then acid.. I'm going shopping tomorrow, i'll get some, try it and let you know..

Glad that you and Peter had a good day as well! Even though needing to stay at home because of the damp air, i'm glad to hear he had a good day :)

Chloe, nothing strange as such happened to me today but I did see two interesting things ... one mildly amusing, the other genuinely awesome!

We were driving down the highway and had to stop for some roadwork. The VDOT flagman was ahead directing traffic and alternating which lanes could move forward. We only sat there for about 3 or 4 minutes and as I looked out the side window, I formed a sentence that I can honestly say I've never said before ... "Is that a child's plastic telephone receiver hanging from that tree?" And it was!! No houses nearby ... don't know the story but there it was, hanging from an old and decrepit sign nailed to the tree.

The other interesting thing was the weather. It started out a beautiful early afternoon, sunny and crisp with a perfect autumn-like feel in the air. It gradually got cloudier and then darker and then started pouring rain for about 10 minutes. Upon clearing again and the sun shining, there was a beautiful double rainbow! This is only the 2nd time I've ever seen a double one and it was great. I was unable to get both of them in the photo because I was in the car and because I couldn't get at a good angle but I was able to get these 2 quick pics. The first is the bottom rainbow and the second is the much wider and higher in the sky top rainbow that arched over it. I wish the photos were better!

I just saw horrible kids in supermarkets today.. :-2 as the mums let them run through the shop, touching everything, and poking the fresh meat etc.. God I hate kids sometimes! (uhum most of the time  ).. I prefer my cats, they're much better behaved! :wah:

Speaking of cats, dumpling is off to the vet tonight for his jabs and yearly checkup.. Oh my... he just walked straight in to the table leg.. :-2 Think the vet might need to check dumpie's brain as well... :wah:

I decided long ago I would never have human children, I just have 4 feline children..

One of which just jumped all over my paperwork (dumpling) and Stewie is sat next to me in his bed, looking at me all funny, like: wtf is going on?!...

Argh.. the picture isn't going in right.. Too lazy to change it.. Sorry! :wah:

Dumpling had his shots, but got so stressed of seeing the travelbox he hid in the bathroom.. when I got him to the vet, I thought I could smell cat wee.. so I moved a seat or 2.. and then I thought it was cat wee on me.. but is wasn't.. then I figured it out (took me long enough :-3 ) , dumpling had an almighty stress piddle in the travelbox..

Good news: perfect weight of 6.2 kg.. lots of muscle.. and no problems what so ever, except for being a bit smelly.. :wah:

That's really good news.

My two cats today have been what my Mother used to describe as ' Scumpering'. You know that random, manic rushing Into a room for no reason and rushing out again. It Is lovely to see Oscar playing with the new rescue kitten but all day long????

My two dogs for some reason have got the hump with each other. I believe It started this morning when my husband sat down with a bacon sandwich to watch TV, got up to go to the kitchen for two nano seconds only to return to find bacon sandwich on the floor and the pair of them holding a stand off. The stand off has continued for the past 8 hours and I've had enough now.

ohh and poor Peter left without his bacon butty! I'll have to remember "scumpering", mine do that a couple times a day.. Funny to watch though :wah:

It was a hectic day for having the day "off".. Only just sat down and had dinner ( it's not agreeing with me though ).. But all that doesn't matter, i'm just glad Dumpie is healthy and we got the vets over and done with for now :)
