BBC 'shelves' Panorama exposé of Comic Relief

The article has lots of 'allegedlys'.

The BBC investigates itself, then the top knobs shelve it, then the papers find out.

Pot calling the kettle black.................comes to mind.

I've given up donating to big charities...I now volunteer for three and a half hours each week in a charity shop that supports the local hospices. I'm fed up with being hounded by the national organisations to increase my monthly donation when it seems that a lot of money goes towards massive salaries.

Until I have reassurance that donations are not falling Into the hands of corrupt governments and Junta's to arm armies and rebels as was the case with much of Band Aid, they won't get a penny from me.

I'll stick to my own charities where I know the minimal admin fee Is taken and where I can see where the money Is being used.

There is a list and audit put out each year here so that people can see what monies go to the actual people it's raised to benefit, and how much money goes into admin and wages. I havent given money to the Red Cross since. The Red Cross is a huge one for fraud. (sorry marketing strategy) And they don't apologise for it.

Australians found out about this after the Bali bombings. The red cross recieved huge donations to help out there. Then it came back to us that the money didn't go to Bali at all. Apparently it goes into a big kitty (no matter what the cause) and handed out all over the place equally. So the next time you give money to them because they've highlighted a disaster it is actually a marketing ploy. They use that particular disaster to get your money and 'some' of it will go to that particular cause.

That's because the Red Cross Is a Global charity and not exclusive to one disaster or atrocity.
