I almost hesitate to ask, but is there still an outstanding issue regarding a new forum area or is the problem dealt with?

You and Bryn have made your decision, if that's what it means by being dealt with. I personally like to hang out with the blacks - where greens can linger too..

I still maintain that there's good reason to allow everyone the ability to post out of public view, but I don't own the place, nor do I have any financial stake in it.

What was the decision?

Last I remember I gave the reasons why I was reluctant to do it and asked for justification of why I should before I made a decision :-

What would you propose should be discussed in the new area?

The supporter's area is there specifically to discuss the way the the site is run - the supporters have paid into the site and have bought the right to have their say.

The way that your posts help to keep FG up and running is by bringing in outside interest - this would not happen if the area you posts are in is hidden from outsiders and from the search engines.

FG is not intrinsically an equal oppertunity site, I'm far less tollerent of new posters than I am of those who've been here for a while and contributed for example, and the members who show their faith in the site by contributing to the costs deserve to gain benefit by doing so.

So, if you can show good reason then I'll do it but I cannot see one at the moment.

I would like to congratulate JJ for making a thread with replies from more than himself and one or two others.

I guess as I started this thread, I should maybe have my own last word and thereby end my own participation in it.

Quite a few members have voiced their opinion and had their fun with it. Bryn has contributed to it and made his opinion known and posed a question or two.

When I proposed a forum for non-contributing members, the notion that it should be a "hidden" forum was furthest from my mind. I have no knowledge of what takes place in the "green room" other than that these members are able to voice an opinion on reported posts. I am not privy to what else is discussed there. I am not a Moderator but I know more about what happens on their forum than I do about what goes on in the Green Room.

Be that as it may. I felt that in the "Black Room" non-contributing members might discuss among themselves anything they had on their mind ONLY with regards to FG itself. I did not envisage threads beings posted there that belonged on the open Forums. Obviously it goes without saying that the Site Owner and Moderators would have access to the Black Room.

I have found that when matters relating to the day to day running of FG are posted on the open Forums, they are often used by some members to play silly buggers and end up in a free for all.

That's all I have to add and if the Site Owner and his Moderators reject the idea then it won't be a train smash ... so be it.

If it turns out that I've been mistaken about wanting this proposed forum area to not be indexed by search engines or be visible to guests, in what way would "Problems, Solutions & Feedback" need changing to make it fit the "get together and make certain decisions which ultimately could affect ALL members" requirement? It must, surely, be pretty close already.

My point is to have an area where subjects that may seem offensive can be posted that may be funny or critical but may contain crude language or images. Not porn, of course. Here's an example.

i think i know what Ahso means . just out of public view ......but it doesn't have to mean anything just something that you need to register for. yeah I"m for that . Journals might be a good thing .....was used in court for me ...i"m just lucky that I stand by my thoughts . Has ramifications....if public.
