The Mimetic World of Hangeul

This website artfully creates interesting mimetics using the Korean language. It begins with “Falling Water and at the bottom of the page you can pick other words to reveal their mimetic art. At the bottom right, you can choose to have them displayed in color along with other options. My favorite by far is “Blazing Sunshine in color!
The “About tab will tell you a little more about Hangeul, the Korean alphabet and includes a link to a video for more information.
Check out the website here ~~~~~> Project Hangeul #1 - The mimetic words of Hangeul
The site seems to be a work in progress and I hope they continue to add new words/mimetics over time.
As an aside, I just finished the novel “The Calligrapher’s Daughter by Eugenia Kim that took place in Korea from the 1910s to 1946 and it interwove much of Korea's 20th century political and religious history into the story. It’s well written, has a great storyline and provides a wealth of historical information. Here’s a website ~~~~~> The Calligrapher's Daughter by Eugenia Kim I look forward to another book from this author and hope there is one in the works!
