I have noticed the birds are starting to sing in the morning! I haven't heard them for months. That is exciting!!!

And this weekend with the beginning of Day Light Saving Time and temps into the upper 50s (F) and .....get ready....some of my crocuses are just peeking thru the mulch!! OMG! I think Spring may be on the way!!

After the long winter and all the snow and ice

this is such a welcoming sight!

England I hope your rains have ceased and things are coming about there too!

Come on Spring!!! :yh_party

I agree, Lady J ... bring on spring!

My crocuses have been blooming for about 2 weeks ... first the purple ones then the yellow ones! The daffodils are coming up and some have buds on them but none of them have opened yet.

The harbinger of spring to me is the sound of the peep frogs in the evening. I haven't heard them yet but I had made a notation on my calendar last year that I first heard them on March 11th so I'm expecting them any day now! Yesterday at the pond, the painted turtles were floating on the top of the water & basking in the sun and the newts were doing the same. It was sunny and about 65F and today is supposed to reach 70F.

Here is the first sign of spring around here.

3 days before this pic, it was covered in snow.

The bird migration patterns are all screwed up this year because of the unusual winter. I've seen some groups come by early and am still waiting for others.

My Daffodils are in bloom

Quail are looking to nest - I have one Quail nests in the same flower plant every year,

I call her my slut - and she's back - dirt every where - ya she's going to nest there.

I have another small bird nesting in a fake flower arrangement - I watch it daily - it's cool. It's now taking height - some what like a funnel nest.

Today on my patio we watch a couple of Hummingbirds pull & tug for some thread.

This went on all day - The birds were @ 1-2 feet away from me.

very cool

Patsy

birds are singing. bugs are out and about. I even saw a butterfly the other day!

I know from experience that the encouraging signs of spring are just to get our hopes up for the big surprise storms yet to come. Still, it is fun to watch.

Hahahahaha! Know the feeling well Wandrin!

Last two days have been in the mid to upper 60's (F) even reached 70 today! Yahoo!!! But not so fast.....storms blew in early evening and of all things thunderstorms with heavy rain and now the temps have dropped into the 20'S (F) -6°C. That is why we had the thunder....cold meets warm and decides to stay a while.

Glad I didn't put my winter coat away! :wah:
