There are so many men (and some women) who for physical or personality reasons cannot achieve the fulfilment of physical love. Some may be widowers who do not wish another full time relationship but still have natural urges. Some who are too shy.

We, who are fortunate enough to be none of the above ,must consider them.

Legalising will stop the sort of disgusting abuse of young girls, we hear of in our daily press.

Used and abused for drugs and/or foolish young feelings for an evil boyfriend.

Cut out the pimp.

Help stop this abuse!

And you believe that legalizing prostitution will end such behavior?

I hate to disappoint, but legality is only a fraction of the formula. In Nevada, prostitution has been legal for decades, and yet there is a multi-billion dollar illegal prostitution business still going on.

I am not against legalizing prostitution. I am just saying that the expectations of the results might be misguided.

I'm sorry Arena, legalising prostitution will not end grooming gangs In this country.. It's not down to the availabilty of prostitutes but It's a culture difference.

Muslim community in 'denial' about grooming rings, says Jack Straw - Telegraph

How we tackle that culture difference Is another thing entirely but a subject very close to my heart.

However, I do believe the availability of prostitutes legally would help toward cutting down on violent sexual assaults.

How on earth will someone that has a problem relating to females approach a prostitute legal or not?

Rape is more a crime of aggression than gratification, so unless the prostitute offers special services to cater for rapists needs it just will not work like that.

Rape is more a crime of aggression than gratification, so unless the prostitute offers special services to cater for rapists needs it just will not work like that. The grooming gangs are not In It for sex. It's about making money. They target vulnerable girls and then they are passed around at a price.

Some prostitutes do offer diverse sexual preferences. Rapists tend to be opportunists. If prostitutes were readilly available without the stigma of criminality behind the act, It may, just may stop some opportunist rapes. Some rapes turn violent not because the rapist Is violent or aggressive per say but because In an opportunist rape, the victim may fight back and It's the fear of being caught and her going to police that lend leads them Into being violent. Every case Is different.
