As a Job Seeker myself, I find it so irritating having to plough the decoding of basic jobs tarted up by using Politically Correct Terminology.

For example.

Environmental Waste Disposal Engineer .... Binman.

Technical Landscaping Operative .... Gardener.

Sanitary Specialist .... Cleaner

Entry Level Personal Assistant .... Dogsbody

Attendant Nocturnal Security Officer .... Night Watchman

Seriously - these aren't ones I've just made up - they're ones I seen advertised.

Oh, and one I nearly went for myself, until I discovered what it was...

Freelance Publicity Despatch Clerk ...

Cash in hand Pizza Parlour leaflet delivery.

You could put "Job seeker" into the same catagory ?

You are Out of work.......right?

Exactly. On the Work Programme we have it constantly drummed into us that we should always use the term "Job Seeker" instead of "Unemployed" so much that it's become 2nd nature to me. After all, the 'Dole' used to be 'Unemployment Benefit'. Now it's 'Job Seekers Allowance'. It's no difference whatsoever, but every now & then they change the name to something more P.C. It's all a matter of image.

It is a lie isn't it ?.......be honest here.

Anybody could be a Job Seeker, but to be Unemployed and looking for work sounds desperate.
