TB has been on the rise for several years I believe, it can only get worse as antibiotics loose their affectiveness.

You know what shocked me only the other day? Well, I say shocked but It was more of a ' huh '?

Meanwhile, over In the USA, the bubonic plague returns... although It's the Daily Mail so they're probably blaming the Mexican's

It makes sense, leprosy would be well down the list of likely suspects in Welwyn garden city.

Whenever there is a species whose population runs out of control, Nature steps in with a plague to even the scales. Take the case of the Maclear's rat. Introduced to Christmas Island by Spanish ships, it had no natural predators and an abundant food supply, It bred completely out of control until scientists estimated there were over a billion rats on the small island. A person could not walk across from building to building without stepping on the backs of rats.

Then a plague came. Despite massive numbers, despite an extremely fast breeding rate....the Maclear's rat is now extinct.

Once the African Buffalo blackened the veldt with herds the size of small oceans, then a plague of rinderpest fell on them until there were very few left. Today their numbers are beginning to increase once again. I think the increase in plagues and disease is a factor of our overpopulation.

Mankind is playing Russian Roulette with Nature. Great point Saint... this Is something I looked Into once. I watched some film about these plague's actually coming from space and space dust. So It got me Interested and I started reading more on It.

Then as Bruv pointed out, there's the aspect of man creating anti-biotics that have now become Ineffective... as I've recently found out, the same with flea treatments, the buggers have become Immune to the old brands.

That sounds a lot like the Gaia hypothesis. Mother Earth will protect herself.
