HAPPY BIRTHDAY HT !!!

I hope you have a good one !

This is wrong - HT's birthday is in March apparently. I thought I was being clever and nipping in with this thread after I read HT's post in the "Letters To Yourself" thread, where he said he was 67 today. Here's stupid me misunderstanding. Of course HT meant that he was 67 years old at this moment, and not that it was his birthday. Well I don't think I'll bother to do that again. What a prat ! :yh_eyerol

I just follow everything Gilly does because she is my mentor & I, a mere disciple.

So, HT, do you expect another fuss in March? ;-)

:yh_rotfl @ FourPart !

Do you remember when the Queen had the national anthem played on her real birthday 21st April ? I'm not sure when they stopped doing that, but we used to laugh, in our family, because my second brother's birthday is also 21st April and we used to rag him about being the only member of our family who had the national anthem played on their birthday ! :)

Not a bit of it. It is I who should apologise. I ought to have written, “I turned 67 this year or “now that I'm 67 ¦ “ - something along those lines. What I wrote was unintentionally misleading but entirely my fault just the same. :yh_cow

... and I was just recently complimented on my English too! :yh_clown

He's always lurking (just out of sight) our Bruv - waiting for an opportunity to dupe someone into a confrontation. He's a very naughty boy! :wah:

I'm proud to be an outright Royalist, and I've always believed that we should stick with tradition & perform it at the beginning of each concert. However, it appears I'm alone in this.

I know that when we do our joint Christmas concert with the Police Band, they always play it, but I'm told that's just because they have an official allegiance to the Queen.

I think it's a shame that so many traditions have fallen by the wayside.

These traditions have been what England (GB , UK) is all about, and I might add that has been the envy of the civilised world. Our pomp and ceremonials are a terrific tourist attraction and therefore worth a hellovalotov money to this country's economy. With the gradual decrease in such traditions, so there is bound to be a decrease in the attraction for tourists. England is gradually becoming just another western nation, with nothing to make it INDIVIDUAL, nothing to make it stand out as being a bit different from other nations in the civilised world. At the rate we are going, we will become yet another "third world" country. We will loose our identity - that is beginning to happen now ! I firmly believe that it is Europe (the political side) that is instrumental in our progressing downfall. We joined Europe, originally, as a trade union, and I was all for that. However, the whole thing has degenerated into a power struggling political mess, and because of this the UK needs to remove itself from the European fiasco and use the money which we are paying billions into Europe, to attend to our own economical shortfalls. It is horrifying to me that our police stations in my city are loosing 4 more because of cash restraints, and they are now saying that although the numbers of 'bobbies on the beat' will not be affected, we have recently been informed that these numbers will also have to be cut !!! Hello Mr. Criminal, the stage is yours chuck ! :-5:-5

Sorry that is me soap box bit, and I've taken the thread way off topic ! Oops. :o  I shall blame FourPart for that :wah:

I find it bizarre how so many local Police Stations these days are classed as being 'Unmanned', and only used as Administration Points.
