The birds are eating us out of house and home!

Recently during a periodic visit to our bird seed mill we found that supplies of our regular grade of mixed seed was temporarily out of stock and so we stocked up with an more expensive, enhanced 'de-luxe' variety.

Now, our birds are not stupid and very quickly worked out that a 'gourmet' meal was available at our feeders.

But instead of keeping this new-found knowledge to themselves they told all their friends with the result that attendance at the feeders has soared as has our bill for birdseed!

I am seriously considering applying to the IRA to allow me to treat the birds as 'dependents' on my next tax return .

I wonder would they wear that one!

Ah but Buzz - how do we know that Pennsylvania birds like the same things as Irish birds?

The Pennsylvania birds might all drop down lifeless to the ground.

I can see the headlines in the 'Philadelphia Inquirer' now:

"FBI catch local bird poisoner - Alleged to have acted on instructions of foreign mastermind"
